Position Summary

 

Director, Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Engagement

 

Job Details

 

The Director, Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Engagement works in partnership with leadership volunteers and committees to drive growth and success in fundraising campaigns. The Director is responsible for raising funds and maximizing growth potential of 2 special events and support/manage/grow the young professionals committee and their signature event. S/he will identify, recruit, train and partner with leadership volunteers to harness their passion and skills and to help maximize what they have to offer to advance the mission.  The Director travels throughout the market area to meet with constituents and serves as a key leader for the client with volunteers and supporters.  The Director will cultivate partnerships and alliances that will promote growth and awareness in the community.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

 

Management

  • Develop, implement and monitor campaign budgets and work plans for campaigns that take place within the market(s) area.

  • Oversight of management responsibilities associated with staff in coordination with National and Regional Directors.

  • Create and implement strategies to meet fundraising goals through special events, 3rd party events and individual gifts.

  •  

Fundraising

  • Maintain accurate and complete records and files for fundraising events, programs and activities and routinely review the status of each with Deputy Executive Director/Executive Director.

  • Direct the cultivation, solicitation, follow-up and recognition process for the individual, corporate and foundation participation and donations.

  • Coordinate all collateral materials related to fundraising events, programs and activities.

  • Coordinate patient/professional education programs and provide assistance to support groups.

  • Coordinate public relations and promotion for fundraising events, programs and activities.

  • Perform all other duties and tasks required to support all new and/or proposed fundraising events, programs and activities.

  •  

Volunteer Engagement

  • Build a compelling vision for growth and collaborate with volunteer leaders and staff to achieve it.

  • Work with leadership volunteers to identify, recruit and engage volunteers who have potential to make an impact.

  • Build strong and effective partnerships with volunteers and supporters and help foster a culture of accountability.

  • Partner with and support volunteer committees to drive success in campaigns and grow support for our mission.

  • Serve as a key leader in your market area building relationships, raising awareness and sharing mission impact with constituents.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • 4-7+ years of managerial experience, preferably within a voluntary health not-for-profit organization.

  • Demonstrated a successful track record in voluntary health not-for-profit fundraising that includes special events, corporate/foundation giving, donor cultivation and recognition, donor records and acknowledgment.

  • Success in the development of major gifts.

  • Proven and applicable skills in strategic planning, budgeting and volunteer development.

  • Self-motivated results-oriented leader with strong organizational skills.

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, with public speaking ability that will inspire and motivate others.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Donor Direct and Convio a plus.
