Position Summary

As President of the Alabama market, you will strive to expand our client's resources and reach to ensure constituents feel supported and connected.  You will find opportunities to engage diverse community leaders to achieve organizational priorities and expand the presence and connection throughout communities in the market territory.  You will ensure trustees, councils, and other leaders are effective in their community outreach and empower community leaders to serve as ambassadors in their own communities.  You will effectively communicate our client's integrated research, services, and advocacy strategies.

​Your key responsibilities will include:

 

1.    Ensure effective Leadership volunteer engagement

  • Develop and cultivate an active, engaged, and diverse Board of Trustees, Community Engagement Committee, Governance Committee, Donor Relations Committee, and other committees of the Board

  • Expand and leverage the networks and knowledge of leadership volunteers, deepening their connections. Grow their capacity as ambassadors and activities in outreach.

 

2.    Assess, create, and enhance community presence and connection            

  • Assess and prioritize communities and activities for community outreach and engagement to advance priorities within the Strategic Plan

  • Identify, convene, and connect people, groups, and community resources to the organization and to each other. Ensure diversity and ensure community members feel included.

  • Empower individuals and groups to engage and propel the organization's movement

  • Ensure priorities of the chapter territory are effectively executed

  •  Coach and develop staff and volunteers to create new connections

 

3.    Drive revenue growth

  • Participate in setting and ensuring the achievement of revenue budget, forecast, and targets

  • Ensure Board of Trustees engagement in the achievement of revenue budget

  • Lead staff in identifying, strategizing, and pursuing cross-functional connections and opportunities for relationship collaboration

  • Identify, cultivate, steward, and recognize top relationships

  • Manage a portfolio of top relationships and participate in relationship management teams

  • Identify new and potential donors through community connections

 

4.    Increase operational effectiveness and capacity

  • Demonstrate a commitment to all staff growth and development. Actively participate in the professional development plans and activities of staff.

  • Identify, develop and grow staff and volunteer capacity to achieve measurable and sustainable results while removing obstacles

  • Ensure staff and volunteer leadership behaviors are aligned with Operating Principles; provide timely feedback and coaching to improve performance and behaviors

  • Participate in decision-making and professional development as a member of the Leadership and Management Team

  • Ensure operations are effectively managed and aligned with practices, adhering to all policies and procedures

  • Recognize and remove barriers to organizational effectiveness; demonstrate and actively contribute to innovation and continuous improvement

  • Maintain a strong sense of teamwork and foster a positive and inclusive working environment.

Qualifications

  • ·BA/BS plus 10 years related experience, with a history of job growth and     advancement, preferably with non-profit organizations

  • Demonstrated successful leadership experience with a history of job            growth and advancement, preferably with non-profit organizations

  • Experience in diversity and inclusion work

  • Experience working in a cross functional reporting structure

  • Expertise in special events and traditional fundraising with success in            developing and cultivating relationships to secure contributions from            individuals and corporations

  • Experience in community engagement and volunteer development

  • Proven ability to meet financial goals

  • Successful track record in creating positive workplace environments

  • Demonstrated success developing effective nonprofit boards

Salary

Estimated hiring compensation range is $120,000 - $146,000 based on a general compensation range.  Final offers will be consider career experience and may vary from this range due to these and other factors.
